The label Sami & Sita was launched in 2003 with the shops grand opening on Sydney’s fashion destination strip, William Street Paddington in 2005. Maria Ricciardo Gibney is Sami & Sita- fashion designer, creator, stylist and entrepreneur. Born and raised in Paddington Sydney, Maria brings a wealth of experience, knowledge and contemporary fashionable designs to her label.

Maria’s education in fashion began when she studied fashion technology at East Sydney’s Fashion Technical College but her passion and talent for fashion developed as a teenager doing sewing classes with her mum age 15. Maria’s work experience extends from working for renown labels such as Collette Dinnigan, Table Eight and in London for design development co. O2. Maria’s ambition to develop her own designs and talent led her to establish Sami & Sita to showcase her creations.

The name Sami & Sita is an affectionate play on the name of Maria’s parents Sam and Rose (or Rosita) who have been a pillar of encouragement and support for the business. Proudly launched in 2003 the first collection was complete and it was all about the dress! And it still is- Sami & Sita is now an established label known for its feminine dresses inspired by fashions from the 1940’s through to the 70’s. Sami & Sita’s collections have everything we all look for, femininity with a contemporary twist, quality and unique detailing.

Sami & Sita specialise in bridesmaid and bridal gowns, season party and cocktail dresses, race wear, jewels and accessories. Our personalised service, unique designs and quality will make you fall in love with the Sami & Sita.
